Norppa is my second dog. First I intended to have a male puppy from a certain female I knew, but there were no males left so I decided to take female instead. Her character is much like her mother's: good drives but  perhaps not so much temperament. Norppa is much more independent comparing to my first dog, so I had to do a bit more work to get contact with her. Unlike my first dog she really ignores surrounding, people and dogs. This makes her very easy to keep, basically I can keep her free almost anywhere.

We started training with searching and obedience. After a while we tried SchH and started to do tracking too. Soon it became clear that we could never be world champions but we could participate SchH trials with good expectations. Just my bad luck, when soon after registering to first SchH trial the dog's neck got injured. That ended our SchH career before it had even began. Eagerness to field track still remains, so we are going to try our wings in FH. I haven't forgotten tracking and searching either, so in future I hope you can see some results also from those events in the Trials page.

Another thing is her eagerness for running (and food), this girl really wants to use her muscles (and mouth). I tried some sledge dog racing with my first dog but this dog is something else. You have to believe me that she really is a bitch on a skiing track. Under two years old she won Finnish doberman championship. Unfortunately the next winter I was lying in a hospital but again the next winter we won doberman championship and Finnish championship silver (relay) and other good races. And all this though I'm not much of a athletic (lazy me), she really has to be a runner. Not competing with her size (28kg) but with her fighting spirit.

She isn't a perfect dog: she has minor problems in her character. On the other hand she has many strong points in family life and as a working dog and with those I think we can manage to do some results. Day after day I like her more. And unlike my first dog, she really is a swimmer.
